Bobby Madden appointed to Under-17 World Cup

Bobby Madden has been selected by FIFA to referee at the FIFA U17 World Cup Finals which started today in India.

 

David McGeachie and Alastair Mather were also selected by FIFA to be his assistant referees.

 

In his eighth year as a FIFA listed referee, Madden comes into the tournament having been an Additional Assistant Referee at Euro 2016 and the group stages of the Europa League this season.

 

The tournament in India is played until 28 October and the three officials are one of 21 teams of referees selected by FIFA for the competition.

 

All officials arrived in India on 29 September for a week’s preparation in Kolkata.

 

24 teams will contest the Finals, starting the competition in six groups of four.
