Scotland women’s national team player Heather Richards spoke to Primary seven girls from across North Lanarkshire at Braidhurst High school on Wednesday, 1 March, as part of an information evening on the Girls Premier Player Programme at Braidhurst High school.
The Girls Premier Player Programme is the first girls-only school football programme of its kind and is hosted by Braidhurst High school in partnership with Motherwell FC Community Trust.
Heather was in attendance to speak to pupils and answer any questions after they had mixed with current S1 programme participants in fun skill practices and games to showcase their ability.
Parents and pupils were subsequently given the opportunity to listen to a short presentation outlining the aims and values of the programme and its current success.
Applications for the August 2017 intake for the programme are now open to current Primary seven pupils in North Lanarkshire, and will close on Friday, 10 March.
The information brochure and application form can be found on the Braidhurst High school website.
