Erin Cuthbert and John McGinn have been voted as the Scotland BT Players of the Year for 2021.

With thousands of votes cast, fans were given the opportunity to name their Men's and Women's Players of the Year.

Playing in all-but-one of our matches this year, Erin wins the BT Women's Player of the Year award for the second time in her career, having won the prize in 2019 – along with the Goal of the Year award for her strike against Jamaica.

Scoring five goals in ten games – including a superb strike against the Faroe Islands at Hampden – Erin beat off stiff competition from Christy Grimshaw, Caroline Weir, Rachel Corsie, Claire Emslie and Lee Alexander to secure the award.

In the Men's category, John McGinn also reclaims the award he won in 2019, after David Marshall took home the trophy in 2020. Playing in all-but two of our matches this year – including all three of our UEFA EURO 2020 appearances – John has enjoyed a stellar year with the national team.

Highlights for John in 2021 have included a superb overhead kick against Austria, a double against the Faroe Islands and a fantastic strike against Israel.

In a competitive line-up, John edged out fellow nominees Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney, Grant Hanley, Lyndon Dykes and Billy Gilmour.
