Last Sunday marked four years since Scotland qualified for the 2019 World Cup with a win in Albania.
The current crop are one step closer to following in their footsteps as they await Friday's play-off draw.
The Scots lit up a dreich night in the Faroes with goals from Nicola Docherty, Caroline Weir, Erin Cuthbert, Martha Thomas, captain Rachel Corsie and Jen Beattie.
Team News
With Chloe Arthur and Sam Kerr having dropped out through illness and injury, respectively, there was a place on the bench for late call-ups Lisa Robertson and Rebecca McAllister.
Experienced midfielder Robertson is no stranger to the international scene, but it's McAllister's first involvement with the squad.
As It Happened
Scotland started on the front foot, but found clear-cut chances hard to come by in the early exchanged against a dogged defence.
Jen Beattie turned in the first real effort of note on seven minutes, with a header from Cuthbert's cross that drew a smart reflex save.
Pressure paid off after 17 minutes, with Docherty scoring her first goal for her country in some style.
Cutting in from the left, she curled beautifully into the far corner.
The determined hosts made Scotland work for their second, but it duly arrived on 40 minutes after Weir somehow found space in a crowded area on the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful left-foot strike that rippled the net.
Four minutes later and Weir turned provider, laying the ball off to Cuthbert. With a characteristically ferocious shot, she left keeper Joensen with no chance in goal.
Within a minute Thomas added a fourth, with a real poacher's finish to get a toe on Claire Emslie's driven cross.
Pedro Martinez Losa made three changes at the break, with Abi Harrison, Christie Murray and Rachel McLauchlan introduced in place of Lana Clelland, Lucy Graham and Thomas.
Scotland picked up where they left off before the interval, with Corsie showing great determination to head home the fifth on 53 minutes, before Jen Beattie added a sixth in similar style after 68 minutes.
