KDM Group have renewed their partnership for a further three years, strengthening their commitment to the girls’ grassroots game.
Last year, the KDM Group Soccer Centres saw over 1,200 participants with over 70 centres around the country.
The KDM Group Soccer Centres are designed to encourage girls of primary school age into the game.
The sessions provide a fun and friendly environment where our stars of the future can access the game, develop their skills and meet new friends whilst improving their fitness.
Girls’ and Women’s football participation has continued its upward trend in Scotland, achieving record numbers for the second consecutive year, with 22,977 registered participants in 2023.
The record number of female participants also represents the highest ever percentage of the overall registered participants figure, with girls and women now making up 14.2 percent of all registered grassroots players.
Scottish FA Head of Girls’ and Women’s Football, Shirley Martin: “It’s fantastic to have KDM Group on board for another 3 years. It’s been great to see the growth of the soccer centres over the last 18 months and an increasing number of young girls engaged in the game.
“The growing number of girls getting involved in football is testament to programmes like the KDM Group Soccer Centres and we hope to see these numbers continue to grow year on year as we encourage more young girls to get involved over the next 12 months and beyond.”
KDM Group CEO, Iain Jones: “We’re thrilled to renew our sponsorship for another 3 years. The KDM Group soccer centres go from strength to strength with the rising numbers of girls playing football and the increased number of soccer centres being opened across the country. These soccer centres not only build fitness and communities for young players but also help break down barriers and improve the awareness of women’s football in the country. We’re proud to be working in partnership with the Scottish FA and helping to drive change.”
