For the first time a match in the First Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup will be shown live on BBC Scotland’s new channel.

Kelty Hearts will take on Auchinleck Talbot on Friday 20th September, kick-off 7.05pm.

The match will be the first game to be shown live, in a season where BBC Scotland will broadcast select games from every round of the cup.

Managed by Barry Ferguson, Kelty Hearts have had a blistering start to the season, scoring 22 goals in their last three matches in the Lowland League.

Auchinleck will be eying more of what last season delivered in the cup where the men from Ayrshire defeated Ayr United and were rewarded by a trip to Tynecastle Park where they were defeated by Hearts.

BBC Scotland will have 11 live games in the competition, culminating in live coverage of the final on Saturday, 9th May 2019.

Scottish FA Commercial Director Chris Rawlings said: “We’re delighted to work with BBC Scotland to bring live televised coverage of the William Hill Scottish Cup First Round fixture between Kelty Hearts and Auchinleck Talbot.

“It is a historic moment for the competition, bringing the early stages of the cup to a national audience for the first time. Clubs competing in the early round will enjoy greater exposure and it will be a memorable night for both as they go head to head in what promises to be an exciting First Round.”

Grigor Stirling, Commissioning Executive, Sport said: “BBC Scotland has a long association with the Scottish Cup, and we’re delighted that our comprehensive coverage of this season’s competition begins with such a mouthwatering tie."
