2019-21 UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifier
Scotland v Greece
Friday, 15 November 2019, kick-off 7pm
Tynecastle Park, Edinburgh

Scotland Under-21s Head Coach Scot Gemmill has named his final squad of 2019 for the 5th match of the UEFA European Under-21 Qualifiers against Greece.

Scotland are unbeaten in the campaign so far following their two goalless draws in October at home to Lithuania and away to the Czech Republic.

Gemmill’s side currently sit top of their group having played four matches, one point clear of second-placed Greece, the opponents for the match on Friday, 15 November at Tynecastle Park.

Billy Gilmour is included in the squad after starting for Chelsea last night in their Carabao Cup fixture against Manchester United, while Celtic’s Michael Johnston returns after being forced to withdraw from the squad in October due to injury.

“As we approach the halfway point in the campaign it is very pleasing to remain unbeaten after some tough matches and sit atop the group,” said Gemmill.

“In our last match away to the Czech Republic we performed very well to take a point against what was a very formidable opponent.

“It was fantastic to see the players perform under pressure in a tough environment to achieve a result and that is exactly the sort of experience that will serve these players well in their development.

“Greece are also unbeaten in the campaign so far and have shown that they will be a real test for us. The challenge for the players now is to use the experience they have gained so far at this level to end the year on a high.”
