Team News
Scotland's side showed seven changes from the last Men's Under-17 international against Austria last month, with Cameron Williams, Hayden Borland, Aiden McCallion, Fletcher Boyd, Callan Hamill, Cooper Masson and Brodie Dair coming into the team.
There were two changes to the squad after the initial squad was named, with Queen's Park's Cole Burke and and Rangers' Oliver Goodbrand dropping out, to be replaced by Hearts' Taylor Hogarth and Aberdeen's Cooper Masson.
As It Happened
After a cagey start to the game it was Williams who had the first chance in the 19th minute as he combined well with Zander McAllister and Brodie Dair but he could only stab straight at goalkeeper Aleksander Trajkov under pressure from the North Macedonian defence.
In the 25th minute Dair then had an even better chance as he got played through on goal but as the angle tightened his weak shot drifted harmlessly wide of the nearpost.
Scotland enjoyed lots of the ball without creating many clear-cut chances and they were shocked by their visitors as North Macedonia took the lead in the 40th minute.
After Scotland failed to clear a corner, Nenad Damjanovski set up Kristijan Markoski who expertly curled a looping effort over goalkeeper Graham into the far corner from 12 yards out on the angle to make it 1-0 at the interval.
Scotland started the second half brightly and could have equalised within minutes as Boyd did well to get to the byline but a miscommunication between Jamie Hislop and Dair led to Hislop poking the ball straight at the goalkeeper with Dair well placed.
Boyd was heavily involved again in the 52nd minute as the Aberdeen youngster grabbed the equaliser. After carrying the ball from his own half down the right wing, he was able to pick out Hislop, and although his shot was saved, Boyd was on hand to bundle home and make it 1-1.
North Macedonia still remained a threat, however, and substitute Damjan Bucevski fired into the side netting in the 64th minute as the game remained in the balance.
And it was Scotland who took the lead in the 80th minute when Boyd saw his shot saved, allowing sub Hogarth to slip the ball through the goalkeeper's legs to make it 2-1.

But the lead only lasted three minutes, however, as Lorent Zkahu dispossessed Scotland goalkeeper Graham - who felt he was impeded - before sliding the ball in from a tight angle at the near post.
And that would be how it would finish as Scotland had to settle for a point in their opening match.
