As It Happened
It was a fairly even start to the game in sweltering temperatures in Oslo, with Scotland cheered on by a typically vocal Tartan Army who had travelled in their numbers.
Norway were the first to create a chance after a 12 minutes as Ola Solbakken found Alexander Sorloth but his header was easily saved by Angus Gunn.
The hosts started well but Scotland grew into the game, getting joy down the left hand side - with captain Andy Robertson on song, driving the Scots forward with a couple of weaving runs.
Scotland had their first chance of note on 34 minutes as Ryan Christie cut the ball back to John McGinn but the midfielder's shot was blocked.
There was little else to report in a fairly even first period, with both sides cancelling each other out.
Robertson's impressive performance continued into the second half and his tremendous bit of skill on the left wing allowed him to get to the byline but his cutback was blocked.
Erling Haaland had been kept fairly quiet for the first hour but he would make his mark on the game on 61 minutes.
Moments after referee Matej Jug had waved away a penalty appeal as Haaland tangled with Jack Hendry, the Norwegian striker went down under the challenge of Ryan Porteous and this time the referee pointed straight to the spot.
Haaland picked himself up and slotted the ball beyond Gunn - who had guessed right and almost got there.
Scotland suffered another blow moments later as Kieran Tierney was forced off. He was replaced by Liam Cooper, while Billy Gilmour, Kenny McLean and Stuart Armstrong all entered the fray as the Scots searched for an equaliser.
Scotland enjoyed plenty of possession as the match progressed, with Gilmour getting on the ball but they were struggling to create any opportunities until a remarkable final five minutes.
With the clock ticking towards 90 minutes, Lyndon Dykes produced the first moment of magic.
After a miscommunication in the Norwegian box, the striker was able to nip in and slide the ball past Orjan Nyland with his right foot from 10 yards out.

A draw would have been a fantastic result for Scotland in terms of potential qualification but it got even better just two minutes later.
Scotland swept forward again on the counter and Dykes was involved again, laying the ball off to the onrushing McLean who showed supreme composure to sweep the ball in to the bottom right corner with his right foot from just inside the box to send the Tartan Army wild.

Norway threw numbers forward in stoppage time as they looked to equalise, but the hosts were unable to create another chance as Scotland - who brought on Dom Hyam for a late debut - held on to put themselves in a strong position in Group A with 9 points from three games.

Scotland now host Georgia on Tuesday night in front of another sell-out crowd at Hampden Park.
