Scotland have been drawn in Group A for the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers. 

The draw was made in Frankfurt, Germany, this morning, and saw Steve Clarke's team put into a group alongside Spain, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus.

Fixture dates

The campaign will begin at Hampden Park with a 2pm kick-off against Cyprus on Saturday, 25 March 2023, followed by a second home match against Spain on Tuesday, 28 March.

The next fixture window in June begins with an away tie in Norway on Saturday, 17 June, before another home game against Georgia three days later.

The September fixture period will see us play only one qualifier, away to Cyprus on Friday, 8 September, and will be followed by another single away tie against Spain on Thursday, 12 October.

The campaign will then conclude with an away match against Georgia on Thursday, 16 November and a final home tie at Hampden Park against Norway on Sunday, 19 November.

Reaction

Scotland head coach Steve Clarke: “It’s going to be competitive. There are five good teams, and hopefully, we can be the best.

“Cyprus was my first game as head coach, so I’ve got good memories of that one.

“The games aren’t won yet. You have to go there, and you have to be competitive. We think that we’re confident enough to try and continue that through to the groups.

“We work day to day, week to week. We try to improve all the time; we feel as though we’re improving, and we want to continue that improvement.

“To continue that improvement we need to qualify for EURO 2024: that’s the aim.”
