The Fifth Round draw of the Scottish Cup took place at Indodrill Stadium after Celtic’s victory over hosts Alloa Athletic, live on Premier Sports.

Popular singer-songwriter Callum Beattie conducted the draw alongside presenter Connie McLaughlin.

Edinburgh-based Beattie, who is a passionate Scotland supporter, was thrilled to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Amy Macdonald and Rod Stewart in doing the honours.

He said: “It was a wee boy’s dream to take part in the Scottish Cup draw and there’s a lot more to it than I thought.

“I’m sure I’ll be more popular in some households than others after the draw, but there are some great ties.

“We were glued to the results coming in, and Kelty Hearts beating St Johnstone was some story. The competition always seems to throw up some great shocks and I can’t imagine anyone at St Mirren is about to take them lightly.

“Arbroath have been a great story this season as well, so it’ll be interesting to see how they get on at home to Hibs.

“Hibs are responsible for my stand-out Scottish Cup memory. As a Rangers supporter it wasn’t a particularly pleasant one in 2016, but it was some occasion. Everyone will remember where they were for that and I hope this year throws up something just as unforgettable.”
