The draw for the Quarter Finals of this season’s Scottish Cup took place this evening from Balmoor Stadium, following Dundee’s 2-0 victory at Peterhead.
Open Goal host Paul Slane conducted the draw alongside presenter Connie McLaughlin.
After the draw, Paul shared his thoughts on this evening’s happenings:
“First and foremost, I was heartbroken that Peterhead weren’t in the draw, they were excellent tonight.
“It’s a fantastic draw, and as I say every week, this season of Scottish football is one of the best there’s been, it’s so competitive.
“It’s going to be a massive draw for Dundee. They’ve been under pressure but had a big result against Hearts and came here to a tough place tonight and got the result they needed.
“I’ve been a bag of nerves knowing I was conducting the draw – I nearly dropped the Scottish Cup this morning – but it was magical conducting the draw and everyone will be talking about my performance.
“The Scottish Cup means a lot to me – I only played 180 minutes in my own career in it, so today I didn’t let anyone else near the trophy when I had it.”
