The application window is now open for the 2025 intake of the Scottish FA JD Performance School.

There are two separate applications forms: a professional application (for children registered with SPFL clubs) and a grassroots application (for children not registered with an SPFL club).

The Performance School programme has been running for over a decade, with past graduates including the likes of Billy Gilmour, Nathan Patterson, Emma Watson, Leah Eddie, Max Johnston, Calvin Ramsay and Connor Barron.

Trials will take place following the completion of the application process, culminating in a National Trial in April, with the selected children starting the programme in August.

There are seven schools across the country, supporting the development of Scotland’s best young footballing talent. The programme is designed to give talented boys and girls, with the best potential to develop their abilities, the opportunity to practice football everyday within an educational environment.

On average, pupils will be training between 75 to 90 minutes each day, with coaching consisting of four main components, which are delivered in an integrated way and focus on the development of technical, tactical, physical and mental skills.

Both application forms can be found here. A virtual information evening will take place on the evening of Monday, 3 February, with applicants to be sent a link on email.
