The Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup continues this weekend with 20 Second Round ties taking place across the country.

Threave Rovers and Stranraer kick off the weekend on Friday night as they meet in the first match at Meadow Park in front of the BBC Scotland cameras. Threave are aiming to reach the Third Round for the first time in 14 years, but will need to beat league opposition for the first time in the Scottish Cup since a 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir in 2007.

The Scottish Cup trophy tour gets underway on Friday evening as well, with Spartans hosting the first 'Evening with the Scottish Cup' event of the season. Current Spartans players James Craigen and Callum Booth, and Spartans Women manager Jack Beesley will join host Craig Telfer for a Q&A, while fans will have the chance to have their photos taken with both the men's and women's Scottish Cup trophies. Limited tickets for this free event remain available and can be secured here. The Spartans host Cowdenbeath on Saturday - the first time the two sides have met in this competition since the 1990/1991 season.

East Fife are the highest ranked side in the competition and they will be looking to avenge a 2021 Scottish Cup defeat to Banks O'Dee when they host the Highland League side on Saturday. The Fifers have actually lost four of their past five matches against non-league opposition including a defeat to Dunbar United last season, but Dick Campbell's side have been flying high in League Two this season and they will be eyeing up a place in Sunday night's Third Round Draw.

League Two's second-placed side Elgin City are also at home, against Clyde, who appointed Darren Young as manager this week. Clyde are aiming to make it to the Third Round for the sixth consecutive season, while Elgin are looking for a first Scottish Cup win over a fellow SPFL side for the first time since 2012.

Dundee North End are enjoying a dream run on their debut in the competition, having already knocked out Tayport and Tranent. They make the long journey north to take on Inverurie Loco Works on Saturday, knowing that a win would see them become the first Midland League outfit to reach Round Three of this competition.

Bo'ness Athletic are the only other remaining debutants and they travel to face Stirling Albion, eyeing up another scalp, having already seen off Beith Juniors, Kilwinning and Dunbar United in an impressive run.

Highland League leaders Brechin City host Huntly at Glebe Park on Saturday, while Lowland League leaders Caledonian Braves are away from home against Musselburgh Athletic.
