Shirley Martin, the Scottish FA's incoming Head of Girls' and Women's Football, joined host Gordon Duncan this afternoon to conduct the draw for the Second Round of the revamped Women's Scottish Cup.

Eight teams were in the hat for the draw which took place at Hampden Park, while the confirmed four ties will be played on Sunday 6, November.

Shirley Martin, who formally begins her new role at the start of next week, succeeds Fiona McIntyre who has joined the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) as their first managing director.

Her role will differ slightly from that of her predecessor, however, as she focuses primarily on grassroots and a new appointment is set to be made for a position centred about elite performance.

Speaking after this afternoon's draw, Shirley Martin said: "My remit's going to be to lead on the girls' and women's strategy Accelerate Our Game which sets out clear aims and objectives about what we're hoping to achieve within girls' and women's football over the next four years at the Scottish FA.

"Our huge headline target within that for me is to increase participation so I'm really looking forward to getting started and building on the existing strong pathways that we have already got, but also hopefully looking to create some new pathways and avenues for girls and women to access the game in a more recreational format.

"By having the semi-finals and final here at our National Stadium, it does inspire that dream, if you're a young player, to one day be there and potentially lift the cup, but it also gives us the opportunity to showcase these matches and hopefully inspire the next generation using the role models that we have got.

"It's hugely inspiring and I think it's a hugely positive move from the Scottish FA.

"You can see in these record crowds over the past week, with all the young girls in the stand cheering the players on and aspiring to be them and that's hugely important that they can see what they hopefully can become one day."
