Scotland Women’s National Team will host Germany on Friday night under the lights of Tannadice Park. It’s the first time back in the City of Discovery for SWNT since a 3-0 win over Northern Ireland in 2023.

It’s the third fixture in this year’s UEFA Women’s Nations League and follows narrow defeats to Austria and the Netherlands in February. It’s the first time the two sides have met in competitive action for almost 20 years.

Christian Wuck’s side, who are ranked third in the world, go into the match off the back of a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands and a 4-1 victory over Austria when they opened their Nations League account last month.

It’s first match in this month’s double-header against Germany, with the return fixture in Wolfsburg on Tuesday, 8 April.

Team news

Scotland are bolstered by the return of midfielder Erin Cuthbert as well as Sandy MacIver and Amy Rodgers. Mia McAulay, Eilidh Shore and Erin Clachers drop out.

Pre-match thoughts

Scotland defender, Sophie Howard on the challenge of Germany: “I've got an advantage in that I know a lot of the players.

"I've seen them for many, many years and I believe they don't know as much about us as we do about them - and that can be our superpower on Friday.

"You always go in wanting to win, why do we play football otherwise? We're fully aware a lot has to go right for us to come out on top.

"I'm convinced we can perform and compete with Germany, a top nation. We just need to be at our best.”
