The draw for the 2018-19 William Hill Scottish Cup Semi-Finals took place at Firhill Stadium this evening.

Holders Celtic, who are still on course to complete an historic third consecutive treble, will face the winner of the Aberdeen v Rangers replay at Hampden next month.

Meanwhile a potential all-Championship tie is still on the cards in the other semi-final, as Inverness Caledonian Thistle await the winner of the replay of the Partick Thistle and Hearts Sixth Round fixture.

Host Jane Lewis was joined for the draw by former Scotland international - and current Scotland national team assistant coach - James McFadden, and lead singer of Scottish rock band Twin Atlantic, Sam McTrusty.

Draw guests reaction

Scotland National Team assistant coach James McFadden: “We could potentially see the two Glasgow sides go up against each other, although Aberdeen will have something to say about that, so it’s interesting.

"Inverness will be hoping Partick Thistle can cause an upset against Hearts in the replay.

"John Robertson said before the game that he didn’t want Hearts because they dealt Inverness a heavy blow at the start of the season. Whoever is in that fixture could have a great chance of getting to the final.”

Twin Atlantic’s Sam McTrusty: “I’m probably going to get pelters from my close family and friends for potentially being a part of the draw which could see Celtic and Rangers face each other, but I agree with James, Aberdeen will have something to say.

"There’s a chance we could see two Championship sides against each other too in one semi-final. It’s nice to see two smaller sides getting their day in the sun, so it’s shaping up to be really interesting.”
